Prospecting. Feb 4, 2017. #3. For flour gold, get a classifier to set on top of your pan. Set it on top of the pan, dump a shovel of paydirt in it, add water and swirl the gravel with your hand so the fine stuff all falls thru. A 4 mesh (4 holes per inch) or even an 8 mesh will make the panning much easier! OP.
Since a horsepower is 750 watts, that's the same as 750 watts per inch. but that's the power we put in, not the amount of work done. then for say a 3 inch dredge, 3 x 1hp = 3 x 750W = 2250 watts, or 2 1/4 kilowatts. 2250W with a 60% gas engine implies the actual work done is 1350 watts of work for the 3" dredge.
personally I'd get the Angus mackirk recon 2. same dual riffle design and double flair as the le trap. a lother smaller and if you call them you cam have them add cross braces for a couple dollars more. it's just a smaller one. there is still a few differences but yeah. and the am works great for low flowing water. you can use it for quick streams to. …
I have an Angus Mackirk and a Bazooka sniper. I by far like the Bazooka best. Very easy to set up and use, catches fine gold great, cleans up super fast and easy. I've owned an A52, the easy sluice, An angus mackirk, and I like the Bazooka best of all. It is a very forgiving sluice and a joy to work with since you don't have to classify.
He has been panning correctly for a bit over a year now. I have been taking him and his sister prospecting/mining with me for almost 4 years. River sluices have never been my go to preference in gold prospecting, mostly due to needing a steady stream of water. I was introduced to the Angus McKirk range and after using 4 types and owning three (grubsteak, explorer, boss) I can honestly say they make a pretty damn good bit of kit. ...

Easy to set up, clean use, light, catch super fine gold. & you can see the gold hang back on the feed tray/flare before it moves down (if it moves down...) into the riffle section. I got an Explorer - same drop riffle design.
This allows heavier precious metals to fall into the riffles and get captured where it can be recovered easily. Two-step ramp riffles capture more fine gold. The RECON II is 27-1/2" Long 9" wide OD. ID is 7" at each end, center point is 5" wide and 2-1/2"+ wide and just 2 Lbs. You may see some White/Grey material on the surface of your sluice.

The Chisels are going in the mining kit more for rock hounding than gold panning, altho' the larger one would be handy for opening up rock crevices.
Sometimes you get what you pay for. I just bought 3 Keene classifiers. 30 50 and 100... They are heavy duty, fit inside a 5 gal bucket and they will stack which reduces the amount of time it takes to reduce the size. They were like around $22 each. Not bad considering how well they are made and how long they last. Dean Olson Posts:32.

BUT You don't run a battery down completely or you'll kill it, halve it to be safe long term. If you have a 10A draw bilge pump and a 100Ah battery figure on 5 hours or so run time.
It's pretty amazing to start recognizing the gold as opposed to other shiny things and also to recognize the way gold acts. I actually tried to get the small gold pieces to wash down by dropping more sand on top of them, only to have them reappear after the lighter stuff had washed away. Still more testing to do on it. All Treasure Hunting. Oct 8, 2015. #3. No substitute for a good set of knee pads, I paid $300 for my wetsuit paid $5 for knee pads at goodwill. I use contact cement (not rubber cement) to fix holes in my wet suit, on some of my older wetsuits I have bought used one's at goodwill to cut patches out of, works great.
