Platinum (element #78, symbol Pt) is a dense, silvery-gray metal. The platinum group of elements consists of metals with similar physical properties as platinum and these elements are among the rarest in the Earth's crust. They have high melting points, are dense or heavy and are non-reactive with other elements.
Sector Contribution. The non-oil mining sector, which comprises coal, metal ore, quarrying and other minerals, generated N656.1bn ($1.6bn) in 2020, or 0.43% of total GDP. This rose to N1.1trn ($2.6bn) and 0.63% in 2021. As of the first half of 2022 the sector's contribution stood at 0.36% of GDP.
P H Value P H value ranged from 5.6 – 6.91(fig 2) with an average value of 6.30. These values indicated that ground water in the area in slightly acidic, this could be attributed to the abundance of organic matters in the overlying soil and the presence of shale intercalations in the aquiferous coastal plain sands and also due to acid rain …

The journey of calcined clays from deposits to industrial users is extensive, requiring large equipment and sophisticated technology. This section discusses the steps involved in this journey and the processes and technologies involved in each of the steps. The process begins with mining of clay deposits. 2.1 Mining and excavation of clay

Reports from RMRDC and NMC showed that deposits of clays in Nigeria was projected to be slightly above 700 million metric tons [35,36,37, 38, 39], with large percentage of it is deposited at ...
In this publication we do a macroeconomic review of the Nigerian mining sector, look at mining and ESG and also review the mining regulatory framework. We also highlight …
These mines were operated by some 240 companies which employed some 13,700 people in clay mining and milling, and these companies sold 43.0 million metric tons of clay products for $2.14 billion. Michigan is a very modest clay producing state, producing about 725,000 metric tons of "common" clay for a market value of $3.82 million.
The chart of heat flows (q) versus Curie point depths ... (Figure 12) revealed the existence of five layers: sandy clay (20–500 Ωm), clay/shale (10–40 Ωm), sand (150–1500 Ωm), limestone (20–80 Ωm) and sand (1–20 Ωm). The sand (1–20 Ωm) was interpreted as thermal aquifer due to its low gamma ray and low resistivity responses ...
