Using the enclosed sketch and specifications chart, the lengths of the pipes are the same for all dredges sizes. Cut the pipe with each piece having one end with a 15 degree angle on one end. Mark the longest point on each of these pieces. Put the angled ends together with these points, point-to-point. Some trimming may be required for a flush ...
The most powerful 4" ROV and diver dredge in the world at 97kpa (28in/hg) vacuum has removal rate performance more commonly seen in 6-inch dredges. Read more. Hurricane 6" Dredge. With a suction inlet vacuum up to 15.3in/hg (52kpa), the patented Vortex 6" Hurricane Dredge is designed for subsea excavation and disposal of seabed materials …
Came across the Vortxrex Dryland Dredge Nozzle, Wanted to see if anyone ever made or bought a Vortxrex Dryland Dredge Nozzle? If so how well do they work? I …
Priming the Pump. Before you use your suction hose to vacuum up water and material, get your dredge's pump ready for a day of work. Dredge pumps are designed for aquatic use only, so running air through them can cause them to overheat. Lower your dredge pump's foot valve below the water's surface and give it a few back-and-forth …
Join NuggetBrain and Snappy Grip Tim as they use a Gold Suction Tube to get some nice color. See all the GOLD they found detecting at the last 24K Push Event! Extended DVD version contains printable plans and a complete walkthrough showing the process of building the Suction Tube used in this episode. See the Programs Page for addtional …
Engine and Pump. Your suction dredge's engine is powered by gasoline to maintain suction and keep all the parts moving. A single gallon of gas can last upwards of four hours! The pump is powered by water—the same water that you vacuumed up along with the gravel and other materials on the ground. Gravel and gold concentrates are …
Step 1: The Models Venturi Nozzle 10mm Hose by Downunder35m on Sketchfab You can download the STL file directly. For the printing I recommend a fine nozzle and 2 perimeters, 40% infill. ABS …
Venturi vacuum generator – aka venturi vacuum pump or air-operated vacuum pump. You could machine your own out of aluminum using the diagram to the …
Creating a suction dredge pump underwater requires specialized equipment and expertise. Here is a general guide on how to create a suction dredge pump underwater: Gather the necessary equipment: You will need a submersible pump, a suction hose, a suction head or nozzle, and appropriate safety gear such as diving equipment …
A common suction gold dredge design - 4" surface dredge with air compressor In normal operation a gold dredge is run by an operator at the intake nozzle …
A suction dredge is basically an underwater vacuum cleaner that sucks (hopefully) gold-bearing gravel up and runs it through a sluicebox. In more technical terms, suction is created by a motor-driven centrifugal pump moving high pressure water into a jet system, creating a low pressure area that creates suction at the nozzle via the venturi …
The use of any motorized vacuum or suction device to assist in the extraction of minerals as part of an instream mining operation is also prohibited. Likewise, it is unlawful to possess a vacuum or suction dredge in or within 100 yards of any river, stream, or lake. (See Id., § 5653, subd. (d).) Careful! Watch your P's and Q's
Click on dredge images above to enlarge. Suction dredges utilize a high pressure gasoline powered water pump to suck up water, gravel and gold and inject this material into a sluice through a header box. The header box dampens the rush of water and gravel so that it flows evenly into the sluice. The sluice box then expels the worthless gravel ...
Lay the end of the vacuum hose in clean water so that no materials are drawn up the hose, then just let the dredge run. Go to the sluice and remove all the large rocks, this will discharge any sand and small gravel trapped around the rocks. Slow down the motor to idle speed, place your bucket underneath the end of the sluice, lift up or remove ...

Hand Dredge Step 1: Step 1 - Drill Cap, Sand 1/2" Adapter. Find center of 1-1/4 PVC Cap and drill a hole that is 5/8" in size. Step 2: Step 2 - Cut PVC to Length, Create Seal. …
Let's just use the example of a 5-inch dredge. The nozzle-restriction will allow a 4.5-inch rock to be sucked up into the sluice box. And there must be enough water-flow through the sluice to keep the 4.5-inch rocks, and …
Step 4: Cut and Attach Steel Cables. Cut four lengths of steel cable. Make them 10 to 15 yards longer than the length of your pond. Attach each cable to an eyebolt on the steel drum. Loop each cable through a heavy-duty carabiner, and secure it with a cable clamp. Use an adjustable wrench to secure the clamps tightly.
Download Article. 1. Trace the rubber stopper onto the lid of the mason jar. Place the mason jar lid on a flat surface. Set the rubber stopper on top of the mason jar lid. Use a permanent marker to draw around the rubber stopper, marking where you'll need to cut. [1] 2. Cut a hole in the lid with tin snips.
Step 2: Position the Pond Vacuum. After connecting the discharge and suction hose to the vacuum, keep the other end of the discharge hose away from the pond. Now, plug the vacuum into a GFCI outlet and position it near the pond. You can use an outdoor extension if it's too far from the outlet.
Be prepared: Gold dredging can be a physically demanding activity. Make sure you're in good shape and have the proper gold dredge equipment before starting. Use a suction nozzle to get better suction and …
Mike, can you elaborate on your test setup. Was the 5lbs related to overall weight or PSI? A vacuum gauge is a good way to test if you have one. If you do not have access to a vacuum gauge then you can attach 10ft of clear spiral hose to the outlet of the jet and raise the hose straight up out of the water.
I was able to suck dry material up like a vacuum cleaner running a suction nozzle with a power jet inline. I modified my suction nozzle to inject the water into the nozzle like a hydroforce nozzle it works a lot better than the seperate blaster. Only the Vortxrex system injects air like the old gravel elevators for real dryland dredge action.
Set Up The Pulley Dredge. Using the chain and clamps, connect the pump to the raft so the pump touches the bottom of the pond. Place an eyelet stake on each end of the pond on the shore. Secure the eye pulley to the eyelet of each stake. Connect the rope to one eyelet of the raft.
To operate the pump, connect your air hose to the pump's air inlet. Set the discharge pressure of your air compressor to between 70 and 90psi. The higher the pressure, the greater the vacuum your pump will draw. At 90psi, I obtained a vacuum of around 24″ of mercury (inHg), equivalent to 11.79psi or 0.8 atmospheres.
Gold can hide down in the deepest part of a crack or crevice or behind a boulder and often is best reached with a hand dredge, also called a "sucker gun" or "suction gun." This gold prospecting tool is ideal for working below the water line when a motorized dredge cannot be used. It helps you get the gold out of some really tight spaces, a hand ...
The DIY Dredge comes with a variable mounting mounting plate, an eight foot transparent hose, one Cam Lock coupling and your choice of 150 ft – 300ft or 450 ft of discharge hose. The Dredge should be mounted on a raft, a steady boat or you could even do some dredging from the ice. Best results comes from mounting on a platform raft that can ...
Gold dredges use a wide range of parts, including sluice boxes, riffles, hoses, nozzles, and pumps. A suction nozzle transforms the pressurized water discharged by the pump into a vacuum. Water and gravel are drawn in through a vacuum, which pushes the material through the hose. Dredges are primarily built around a sluice box.
Dredging means the process of removing accumulated sediment from the bottom or banks of bodies of water, including rivers, lakes or streams. Dredges are specialized pieces of equipment that create a vacuum to suck up and pump out the unwanted sediment and debris. Sedimentation is a naturally occurring process where silt, …
