RL Dust collectors vs. AL-KO Dust collectors
In Australia, they are (or were) quite a more expensive, but of course price is not the only issue here. The RL unit has performed well, and I assume will continue doing so for quite some time. The pulsed air cleaning system on the filters works nicely, even with a wide belt sander. But the bins fill very unevenly.
Dust Collector upgrade
The 140 is only $500 more than the 125 and the intake is 5.5 inches vs. 5 so it should perform better if I run a 6 inch main. I hope this is possible instead of having to go immediately down to a 5 inch main. The filter for the 140 is also twice the size of the 125.
Felder vs AL-KO DC
Well I was almost ready to pull the trigger on a Felder Duct Collector, currently they only have the RL200 available, and Martin called with a real good deal on the AL-KO 200. It is a couple thousand more than the Felder 200 unit, but it has the pulse air filter cleaning that is not available on the Felder units till you get to the RL250 series.
